Wordless Wednesday (WW) is a visual blogosphere phenomenon.a nod to my Facebook Navy submarine friends that served on one of the submarines. the 41 For Freedom were Fleet Balistic Missile Submarines of 5 different Classes of Submarines of the U.S. Navy. Those Submarines were The George Washington
The Ethan Allen Class
The Lafayette class
The James Madison Class
and The Benjamin Franklin Class
Pictured are the people the Boats are named for. click on the different class to see the list of the People for who the individual subs are named for.

Way cool, Mike. Wow. I had no idea.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, my friend. Scritches to Screwball. ♥
Sandee,I remember when the US Navy coined the term 41 for freedom in 1960 because they already had planes for the boats as a deterent to the Soviets during the cold war.
How interesting! Thank you for teaching me something today.
