Just for the heck of it I decided to post this link about Corrections Officers and some of their duties. And some people wondered why I had to take a disability retirement due to stress of the job.
I know all these duties well Mike. It is indeed a very stressful job. I'm glad I made it out with my health intact. I will say it's not a boring job and each day is different. Excitement abounds.Have a terrific day. Big hug. 🙂
Sandee, when I left I was not in that stable mentally. I was homicidal/susicidal and actually was plannins something horrible.Wanda's Wings, the corrections officers stressed each outher on top of the stress of the job.Mrs.Mecomber,I did that for 15 years before I hit the breaking point.
My sympathies, Corrections Officers are the first line of defense between the inmates and society. They get the least notice if everything runs well, they get crucified if anything goes wrong.
My SIL did that for awhile before they let him go on patrol. He's a sgt not, and does not miss his days in the jail. Better you than me on this one, Mikey.
Subvet, yep if things go well we go unnoticed when they go bad we catch hell for it.Coffeepot, you have be a little off kilter to work this that's for sure.
I've been an occupational health and safety professional and corrections officer is indeed a job that lends to stress related disability.Glad you made it out ok.
Correction officer is one of those highly under-appreciated jobs. While I have never done it, it sounds like long, miserable work that is highly underpaid. The rest of us should be grateful that there are people willing to do it.
Anndi,I almost did not.the place where I was heading was not pretty, and I would have died.Small Town Mommy, yes there has to be someone to do these jobs, mostly young people or these older folks that cannot obtain other work.
Welcome to my blog. I post things that I feel must be said. I will post Prayer Requests when I find them. I will try to do my best to be a good blogger and will try to not step on too many toes. May God bless all that visit with me. THE BLOG IS THE SAME ONLY THE NAME WAS CHANGED, TO PROTECT THE SILLINESS! (With a Nod To Dragnet)
