It has been 54 years since August 8th that I took my Oath Of Enlistment. After Basic I went from Lackland AFB on a direct flight to to Chanute AFB Rantool Ill. I took an couesr in Aircraft Electrician. This was a 4 month course that I finished in 2 months doing so well the the USAF “rewarded” me by assigning to to a Depot Level Maintenance Squadron (the 2951ST Combat Logistics Ssupport Squadron part of the Air Force Logistis Command) at McClelland AFB. I have been to Tialand and Tiawan the Philippines at Clark AFB,5 different CONUS Bases CONUS = Continental United States (the lower 48 states). I took a years early out because of an overage in my field AFLC 42350 and rank SGT E-4.
15and meowing=I was able to Honor my Dad a WW 2 veteran of the U.S.Army Air Force when he wentr in in 1946 and the USAF when he got out in 1949,first thing he did when he got home was marry My Mother October 9 1979 then I showed up in January 1952 My sister Sandra in Feb 1955 and our baby sister Linda the 4 th of July 1956.
Brian’s Home~Forever,I was Proud to do so the day I signed yp I got a 2 week delayed enlistment and a good thing I did my Draft notice showed uip the next day. I called my recuiter and said I got my draft notice he no you belong to us already bring it here I sad yes sarge I will. my Dad here the Yes Sarge called me into the living room our phone was in the kitchen,”Spill it” was all he said. I told him I enlisted in the USAF yesterday and my induction date is August 8 ,1971.I got to take my draft notice to my recuiter,he ok stood up pulled the car keys out and said let’s go.we walk in the recuiter jumps up and said Sarge he’s your son? Dad said Yep.my recuiter a Master Sgt knew my Dad from 1949 hen Dad was a 3striper and he was a 1 striper in Japan.
