Sandee,I was Happy to Follow my Dad’s footsteps he was USAAF in 1946 when he went in and the USAF when he got out in 1949. in 1971 And In july something told me to enlist your draft notice was comming,so I did I scored High enought to qualify for the USAF and enlisted. I beat my draft notice by one day.after I red it I made a beline for the telephone and called my recuiter,”I just got my draft notice I said” “He said No you belong to us bring that here.” my Dad overherd my part of the conversation and asked what’s that all about? I said I enlisted in the Air Force yeaterday and was given a delayed enlistment I report August 8 for induction. But I got top take this to my recuiter he stood up pulled his car keys out and said let’s go. my trecuiter was near retirement and when Dad and I walked in He stood up offered his had to day and said Sarg it’s nice to see you again. he was in the same outfit Dad was in Japan.Dad was his supervisor. Dad said Take good Care of my boy. he said he’d do his best.
