A Special Thought and maybe it’s not all that special.

I know I have not been blogging like I used to! I have my reasons,Grief messes with your head. Grief also threatens your soberiety every day! I know that for a fact!!!  Because on 02/01/2022 and 12/19/2023 were one day drunks. I am not proud of myseld.I was weak both times.

on 02/01/2022 that reastart cost me 37 years of soberiety. celestine was a big part iof that soberiety because in December 1987 I woke up from a drunk, celestine was maddere that a hornet’s nest. when I looked into the garage I saw why. I had parked our Chevy Cavalier station wagon sideway in a one car garage.God bless my Nextdoor neighbor he comes over from his house with a floof jack,He say’s I’ll help you get that thing out of the garage.I said Thank You mr.G. He did ask how much did i have last night. I said I thought I was drinking Seven Up soda.Little did I know the seven up was being spiked with a tasteless vodka.so we got the wagon out there was no damage to it.I was greatful for that.I had a a monster hangover. it was than I said No More. I got to get back to A.A. God Bless mr G as I called him.he said here you need this more than I do.It was a pocket size pamphlet that listed A.A. meetings. so he heads back to his house.I go into my in-laws house . and sit down at the kitchen table and start looking for meetings.i found one that was not that far away and sid i got to get to this meeting. Celestione said I’m not one but I will stop as well to support you. and Support me she did. as I started doing my 90 in 90 she was with me at every meeting. fast forward to October 4 2020 I’m sitting here in the condo when the phone rang I picked it up it was The Hospice of Western Reserve people saying that they are going to be taking over Celestin’s care totally. They had an East side location and a Westside location, the west side location was in Westlake Ohio and it was easier for me to get to so I requested she be transfered there. We already knew that Celestine was Terminally ill at this point. It was just a matter of time when one of her body systems would gether and which one would take her. Turns out it was her kidneys. She made 2 requests of me the First one was she wanted to wear her wedding dress when she was laid to rest. and The second one was Please Stay Sober. I promised her I would.Sadly life got me and on Febuary 1st 2022.I fell off the wagon. than on December 19 2023 I lost my way again.
Today I can proudly Claim 5 Months and 25 Days Sober.

  1. One day at a time, Mike. Don’t beat yourself up for falling off the wagon, just get back on track and you’ve done that. I know you’re having a hard time.

Have a blessed day and weekend, my friend. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. Scritches to Screwball. ♥

  2. No one is perfect especially when grieving. All you can do is try again.

    • the hard part is holding it all together all the time. I can’t do that all the time.some days all I can do is hjave some coffee and play my card games.
