The most awesome version of the Battle Hymn of the Republic was right after 9/11 when they played it on tv while showing the bucket brigade of firemen passing buckets of remains to the bottom of the pile. I cried so hard watching that. It never fails to bring tears when they play it at our 9/11 memorial every year.
Now i'm in tears.
Mike, these are outstanding. I love, love, love Johnny Cash's song. I listened to it twice.. hubby said one more time, but I have to say the last video is my favorite… because it's so dang true. Thank you so much. You really out done yourself my friend. Happy Fourth, and God bless America! hugs…

Mike,I guess if anyone understands the patriots of 1776 is someone such as you who served this country. I cannot thank God enough for giving this nation such great people who fight/fought to keep her free. Your selections are all great but \”Battle Hymn of the Republic\” is especially stirring. As the daughter of a (late) disabled WWII vet of the Army Air Force (support, non-combat) I salute you for your musical selections and service. I grew up in the Vietnam War era when veterans were so disrespected. Even when my husband served stateside (1976-1980)he received some disrespect – I never understood it. Thanks All.Bookworm,I am sorry that your Hubby was so disrespected,back in 1972 I was visiting my High School in my USAF Blues and was spit at as well,before I could act another student student slammed the offender into a locker saying his older brother was KIA in Vietnam,and that he owed me an appoligy,I told the guy sorry for your loss and offered a slow hand salute.

Hi Mike,Wonderful selections here today. I especially liked \”What is a Veteran\” and the Five Branches of the Military Songs, etc.Also I love Johnny Cash and his story of the Ragged Old Flag gets me every time.My father was a WWII Veteran as well as veteran of the Korean War. He served in the Navy during WWII on supply ships and then moved over to the Army where he served in Korea, was a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne and then an MP at Ft Bragg. He had those old faded blue tattoos to prove it! :)Thank you for your service.Hope you had a wonderful 4th celebrating our nation's independence holiday. Michele at Angels Bark
