I wanted to find a photo of one of the Cleveland Yellow cab company checker cabs but I could not, so anyway the point of flash back Friday is this what a taxi cab looked like back in the day not a Ford Crown Victoria, or a Chevy Impala but and Honest To God CHECKER MARATHON CAB. My Dad was a Cleveland Taxi Cab Driver. Hell I even drove a cab for a while when I lived in California. I had the pleasure of driving a cab for Mr. Erol DeBock’s City Cab Company in West Sacramento California way back in the late 70’s. When I find a picture of my cab I will post it.
Way cool Mike. I had an uncle that drove a cab in Sacramento during the 70s too. He was robbed and killed while driving the cab one night. It was a huge funeral with hundreds of cab drivers in attendance. Sad.Have a terrific day. Big hug. 🙂
It's fun to see those old cars. I grew up in the country with no cabs around, and to this day I've never ridden in one. Can you believe that?
Sandee, sad indeed.I fort to add that Dad's brother Evan was a cabbie here in Cleveland as well.Mari, look at it this way Taxi's drivers are a poor mans chauffer.
Pretty cool. I'm back. I had some critical lab values. But should be OK in a few days.
Wanda's Wings,as long as you are doing OK That is what counts,Thanks for stopping by.
