Dixie Virginia Carter (May 25, 1939 – April 10, 2010) was an American film, television and stage actress, best-known for her role in the sitcom Designing Women (1986–1993). She was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for Desperate Housewives in 2007.

I was sorry to hear of her passing. I always liked her – and her husband Hal Holbrook too.
I enjoyed Designing Women. There… I said it!
Sad. She had one of those rare successful marriage to Hal Holbrok.

I had not heard about her death. She was young. Anyone younger than I am is young. I especially remember her from Designing Women.
She was quite a lady that is for sure.I enjoyed the show as well.
