I love a good rant,I really do.Heck I’ve even have been know to off on one my self. This being said.I have to warn every one that there are a bunch of 4-letter words in this rant. I have to agree with this one.
A SUBMARINE IS NO PLACE FOR WOMEN.UNLESS IT IS AN ALL FEMALE BOAT.
I’M NOT BEING SEXIST HERE JUST BEING PRACTICAL. SO WITHOUT FURTHER adieu here’s SUBVET!

I fought a like fight back in the late 80s. I won and when I retired those same guys that didn't want to work with a woman 15 years earlier didn't think a thing about me being the commander. I don't agree with him. If I'm trained to do the same job you better believe that I can do the job. I found that I had to work much harder than my male counterparts to be accepted. Sandee,my point is that even on suface ships with mixed crews there are things being done that a no no.I think it would be worse in a submarine,just saying.I'M NOT SAYING THAT WOMAN SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO SERVE IN A SUB.
I read the post and didn't see a single legitimate reason offered as to why women shouldn't serve on a submarine. Just a lot of closed minded BS. Just a lot of \”women shouldn't be allowed because I don't want them to be allowed\”.I think the post is disrespectful to women, as well as to men who serve on submarines, implying that the presence of female crew automatically removes the self discipline and self respect of male crew. It implies that men and women can't work together in any professional environment and maintain proper discipline. What horse$**t.Will it take adjustment? Of course it will, the same as adjustments to women at military academies and women serving in front line companies. But just because it's going to be difficult is no reason not to do it.
I'm sorry, Sandee, but I have to agree with Mike. We are humans…animals if you will…and humans have just a strong sense of reproduction as animals…but we get the added benefit of pleasure that animals probably don't have. Sure, there are some women and men in a sub that would not engage in inappropriate behavior on board a ship or a submarine, but there is always the one's that will. I'm not trying to be sexist, either. But this is just about the same as having mixed-sex prisons. Funny how women don't fight for that right. Sandee – you are a military woman and I admire that immensely. I could never do it. However, military women don't have to prove their worth by putting themselves in such situations. Just being in the military itself is enough to prove you are skilled, able and a bad a** that I wish I could be. what more do you need to prove? Like I said: I greatly admire military women. They are tough. They are disciplined. They are strong. They have something that the vast majority of us women only wish we had. You are respected, what more do you need?
I have to agree with Sandee. If a woman is trained to do the job then that's all there is to it.

MikeWhy have I never been to this blog before? Geez. Ok, so being that worked in a industry that was dominated by men, and I worked in close quarters with them just as hard, making me their boss within getting the job for only two months….. I say let the baddest of the female bunch come on board. Don't give the men temptation, just give them some nasty, trash talking females that can do their job without complaining about their hair going flat in the humid and cramped quarters.I mean, is the world still focused on labels and sex issues?If the women can do the job just as well, and they want to be on that sub(count me out)with some stinkin men, I say have a good time sister.
