My Birthday
Today I celebrate the fact that I turn a grateful 58 years young. This being said, it has been a struggle to make it this far given all the near disasters that I lived through. When I was younger I did foolish things, any one of the could have lead to my death. Then there were the major health scares that I have had. Then there were the numerous drinking binges and yes some drug use when I was in my early 20s. I have finally managed to put the drinking behind me ever since 17 Dec 1990.
The seizures have not been fun. Nor have the numerous suicide attempts. Gratefully I have survived all that nonsense. I will most likely be in some form of therapy the rest of my life, so be it. I do know that no matter how bad I think I have it, there are others that have it a lot worse off that I do. I’m grateful for all the creature comforts that Celestine and I have. I never for one minute take them for granted.
I’m grateful for the friends and family that I have as well as all my cyber friends. All in all it has been a great ride and I look forward to the future. Especially March 1 2010. Celestine and I will be married 30 years.
