Jumping onto my soapbox.
Well I guess it is time that I jump up on my soapbox,and stick both my feet in my mouth at the same time.
I was just reading some blogs that are condemning the increase funding for stem cell research.
the argument that that is killing just bugs the hell out of me. The research would use the embryo that are discarded.
Discarding embryos is a fancy way of saying that these embryos are going to be destroyed by throwing them out like yesterdays garbage!!!!
since some want to argue against using these for research is killing life,but disposing then unused is killing life also.
so why in the hell are these protesters not condemn the disposal of life as well.
give me a reason that one practice is OK and the other is not???? that sounds very hypocritical to me.
I WONDER HOW YOU WOULD FEEL IF YOU HAD A LIFE THREATENING MEDICAL CONDITION WOULD YOU STILL CONDEMN THE RESEARCH??
CASE IN POINT, A TYPE 1 DIABETIC(FORMERLY CALLED JUVENAL DIABETES.) I HAPPEN TO KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS HAD THIS DISEASE FOR 40 YEARS AND HAS A BUNCH OF LIFE RESTRICTING COMPLICATIONS THAT GO WITH THE DISEASE.
Now that I have said my piece I’m departing the soap box. who’s next?? Comments are welcome,lets get a dialog going.

Sandee, some of the people That this rand is directed to are the self rightous who want to control who can be cured by this needed research.
Amen! Hubby was telling me today that they were talking about this on a talk show he listens to while he drives. This woman called in going on and on against it all, and why was she against it? \”Because she doesn\’t think it\’s right to kill babies\”…..omg, seriously people, unless you are willing to clue yourself in as to what they REALLY do, just shut-up and stop making yourself look stupid! LOLGood lord, do people honestly think that they are \”killing babies\” to get the cells? To me you\’ve got to be a little twisted to even think that they would do that. LOL, see, I joined you up there!
Jolene,I just had to post this one.I just had to speak up.If life starts at conception as some believe,than discarding enbro is just as wrong as wrong as what the public is up in arms about stem cell research.

Jc, this is the first rant that I have been on in a while that I keep increasing the letters as I went along.I guess the more I said the more pissed off I became. I guess my concerns are what can happen in the markets that do NOT follow protocal. Embryo\’s for sale??Bio engineering involving clones??In another note, not really related, as we get more and more technologically advanced, the costs of heath care become higher and higher. At some point soon, the costs will be larger than any one person, or country, can sustain. We would all like to see cures for everything, I understand that, but logic dictates a \”cap\” on how far we as a people can go.
there is a \”cap\” in place already.if you do not have the money and your insurance does not cover a procedure that you can not have it done.
